The outer peel is blackish-green or dark brown-green with granular protrusions and wrinkles, and has visible remnants of the style or stem. The cut surface of the fruit peel is slightly raised, 0.3 to 1.2 cm thick, yellowish-white or yellow-brown, with 1 to 2 rows of oil cells along the edges. The pulp sacs are brownish. The fruit is hard, has a fresh aroma, and a bitter, slightly sour taste.
